Texas Senate Delivers 400 plus bills to the House

The Texas Senate just delivered 400 plus bills to the house. These bills have senate amendments and now must be printed and laid out for 24 hours before they are eligible for consideration in the house. The house can now either concur with senate amendments or we can request the appointment of a conference committee to work out the differences.

Texas Margins Tax Exemption

This morning I joined Chairman Oliveria and Senator Dan Patrick at a press conference about increasing the exemption on small businesses which pay the franchise margins tax. The house passed this measure a few days ago increasing the exemption to 1 million. It is now up to the Texas Senate to pass this relief to Texas businesses.
